Coming to New York for the first time in late October. Really excited. Staying at the Sheraton for two nights before sailing back to the UK on the QM2.
I%26#39;m sure we%26#39;ll find our way round the sights and shops, but I could do with a few tips on eating out on the nights that we are there.
We have very cosmopolitan tastes, but I want good food, without being ripped off. Does anyone have any suggestions, around the Times Square area. We are a party of 2 adults and 2 teenagers.
Thanks

Recos, yes, I hope you%26#39;ll get out of Times Square. ;) Near your hotel, Trattoria Dell %26#39;Arte for Italian and Redeye Grill for seafood are both very good. 7th ave %26amp; 56 st.
Angelo%26#39;s pizza on west 57th st. or the one in the Ed Sullivan theater at 53 st %26amp; Broadway both good. The brasserie, Maison, on 7th ave. %26amp; ~ 54 st right near your hotel is open 24/7 and is good. The Art Cafe is also good.
BUT, the teens will love the village and Soho. You should spend a night downtown.

Thanks for the advice. A this is our first visit we are bound to miss loads of stuff, but we%26#39;ll take your advice and head out to the village on our second night. May be tired on the first night after the flight, so will probably stay local.
I second the recommendation for Trattoria dell%26#39;Arte, and will add another few favorites nearby. These are expensive, but excellent: Milos Estiatorio is a beautiful Greek restaurant, their fresh seafood is exceptional. Bar Americain is celebrity chef Bobby Flay%26#39;s newish midtown outpost serving excellent American cuisine. Alto is the sister restaurant of the highly regarded L%26#39;Impero. They serve haute Italian cuisine. You%26#39;re also a couple of blocks from New York%26#39;s finest restaurant, Le Bernardin.
My favorite neighborhood restaurant though is the Carnegie Deli. IMO the best pastrami and brisket on the planet!
