Itinerary advice, please

My boyfriend and I will be arriving in Manhattan on the morning of July 4th, staying for 2 nights. I usually love to plan trips but the thought of selecting just a few things to do in such a great city is throwing me into a tizzy! We%26#39;re staying at the Hilton near Rockefeller Center. We%26#39;ve both been to NYC a few times before, so we can skip the Empire State Building and Circle Line this time. Two musts-we want to watch the fireworks and we have to eat at the Dinosaur BBQ in Harlem. Any ideas you all could give me would be much appreciated-thanks!

If you make your way east - to the FDR drive - on the 4th - that is usually closed to traffic and for standing room only for the fireworks. Or, know someone who has a fabulous roof garden. You might want to ask at the Hilton Desk - they may know some other spots. I would try the Harlem BBQ on the 5th instead of the 4th. Everyone is off on the 4th and I would imagine they would be packed - lunch there on the 5th should be much more reasonalbe. I always recommend the Ellis Island tour - check www.ellisislandtours.com to see if there%26#39;s one that would be right for you. And of course, you can always walk the Brooklyn Bridge, get some Grimaldi%26#39;s pizza and hit the ice cream factory. Don%26#39;t forget museums - the Metropolitan and Natural History can take a whole day to see 1/32nd of each! Enjoy and bring comfy shoes, lots of sun screen and a hat with a visor. Ta. MMM!
