I%26#39;ve heard that if one can time it correctly, the trip back on the ferry can be a great place to watch the city light up at dusk.
Do any of you residents and/or experts have a good idea of what time this would happen. We will be in NYC tomorrow, June 26, and will ride the ferry past the SOL and back.
Which departure times should we shoot for to watch the city light up from the ferry???

Staten Island Ferry - city lights up- HELP!!
Sunset is at 8:30, getting on the 7:30 boat to SI means you would be on the 8:00 boat leaving SI... and coming towards Manhattan at dusk.
