My aunt and uncle want to take a trip between now and the end of the year. They have mentioned NY city as well as Canada, but they are elderly and have a hard time walking alot. Does anyone have a suggestion for a trip requiring as little walking as possible?
Elderly couple searching for vacation...NY right choice
Some possibilities to consider might be: Saratoga Springs. Saratoga has mineral spring baths that they might enjoy. There are various musical and theatrical productions in the area, including the Performing Arts Center. There is a casino and trotting races. In the end of July and August there are the thoroughbred races. There is the Saratoga Battlefield State Park where the turning point of the American Revolution happened.
Another possibility or along with a Saratoga visit would be Lake George. A beautiful lake surrounded by mountains. There are motels located in downtown Lake George Village. There are hourly tours of the lake by tour boats of Shoreline Cruises or Lake George Steambost Company. If interested in history there is a reproduction of Fort William Henry in the village. At the other end of the lake at Ticonderoga is Fort Ticonderoga and a few miles north, on Lake Champlain is the ruin of the Fort at Crown Point.
