Help finding hotel

Hi

I have spent half a day on the net now trying to find a suitable hotel for my mother and her 2 sisters to stay in in new york with no luck.

Im looking for something central that would cost about $300 - $330 per night. one room with 3 beds would be Ideal but I understand that this would be hard to find so 2 double beds would be ok too.

Does anyone know somewhere nice, its a present for her 50th birthday,

They would be travelling in september

Do you know what they want to see, where they want to go? Central can still cover a big area. Try reading about each of the neighborhoods first, I read Frommer%26#39;s or Fodor%26#39;s which goes into detail about each neighborhood, what%26#39;s there, average cost etc...my book was New York City with Kids which cost me $5.00, and it was a huge help! Try starting out with choosing sites you want to be near, west side or east side, upper or lower, or Times Square etc. It will make a world of difference knowing where you want to be, then hotels will be so much easier based on location.

I stayed in salisbury - breakfast was unexpected bonus although you can buy for $3 such value - our room had two massive double beds.

If you post the dates of their trip I can try to help. Rates fluctuate a lot depending on time of year.

If they really want 3 beds, if they stay in a 1 bedroom suite they could get 2 double beds and a sofabed. A bonus would be a kitchenette for making tea etc. not to mention some extra space.

If you look on quikbook.com the prices are sometimes better than on other sites and are generally cancellable and don%26#39;t require prepayment. The Kimberly, the San Carlos, the Affinia 50 are some suite hotels that might work for them. The Affinia Dumont would also be good.

You could look into the Affinia chain because their accomodations are usually roomy for New York.

For that budget, you could look into Travelzoo.com. They could book two rooms for the price of one. One room with two double beds and a room with a double bed, which costs less than the first one. This solution costs a little more than the one with three beds, but good luck in finding a room with three beds in New York. What you will get is two double beds and a cot. It seems you are talking about women in their fifties and I don%26#39;t think they would like sleeping on a cot.

I also heard good things about the Omni Berkshire place. It seems it would fit with women in their fifties. It is not a trendy hotel where it would be filled with yound and, maybe, noisy people.
