Hiya,
We are arriving at JFK around 1pm, and are wondering what is the best way to get to Times Square (where our hotel is). We have previously only flown to Newark, so need some advice on the best way to get to the city from JFK. There will be two of us plus two suitcases.
Thanking everyone in advance!
Gemma
Best way to get from JFK to NYCGemma,
The easiest way would be a cab. They%26#39;re $45 + tip and toll.
If you%26#39;re looking for a cheaper route, there is a bus that goes directly from JFK to GrandCentral and then the Port Authority (within a few blocks to Times Sq). You can get the bus in the same vicinity you would get the cab - ask the information desk at JFK and I think it is around $11. you will have to wait for the bus and stop at every stop along the way, so it takes too long.
2nd in ease to a cab would be the AirTrain. Follow the sings within JFK when you get off of the plane and you%26#39;ll find it very easily. Then just hop on and go to Jamaica Station on it (about $7). From Jamaica you can take the subway or an LIRR train. Take the train. They come every few minutes and are much more comfortable and easy - buy a ticket from the machines on the platform b/c otherwise you%26#39;ll be charged a fee on the train. This will take you directly to PENN (34th between 7th and 8th) adn you can either way the 8 blocks to Time Sq, hop on the subway or a cab.
If you take the subway from Jamaica, you would take the E train and stay on it until you get to 42nd St., Times Sq.
if you have more than two people, it won%26#39;t cost much extra to cab it. you might also be able to ask someone else on line if they wnat to share - chances are they might!
hope this helps!
