Transportation from Airport

If we flew into Laguardia Airport, what would be the most efficient way to get from the airport to Embassy Suites in downtown NYC? Would we be better off flying into a different airport?

A taxi would be the most efficient and fastest way to get to the Embassy Suites from LGA. The cost would be about $35 with a tip and toll included. .

You might consider flying into Newark (EWR) which is also convenient to downtown NYC. Go with the one with the best fare. A taxi from EWR would cost about $15 more.

LGA is the closest airport to Manhattan, therefore most people take a taxi from there. Both JFK and EWR are further and have more public transport options. Pick the airline/flights with best prices and most convenient times. The difference in price into Manhattan via taxi is $30-40, usually not big enough to dictate one airport vs. another.

Thanks for all of the posts. I forgot to mention that we are a family of six. Would taxi still be the best way to get to Embassy Suites considering the expense of needing two taxis?

I would arrange some sort of car service thst can accomodate 6 people and luggage. I have never had this situation, so I can%26#39;t provide specific companies.

That%26#39;s a rather major detail to forget. Now the question is what sort of budget do you have? Here are the options from LGA

The shared bus service from SuperShuttle or Airlink might work b/c 6 of you plus luggage might fill the van. I%26#39;d get a quote from them (the age of kids may affect pricing) and get a quote from a few of the car services

Thanks, I will look into some of these services.

Is it difficult to take a subway from Laguardia to Embassy Suites? Are there alot of transfers?

Subway is not a good option with a lot of bags (can you all go up and down stairs with your luggage?) and it doesn%26#39;t stop at LGA. YOu have to take a bus (or taxi) from the airport to the subway. I don%26#39;t know which subway stop/line is closest to the Embassy Suites or even how far from the subway stop the hotel is. Why not ask them or look on their website?

Nywhiz is right.

Are all of you capable of dragging your luggage up and down stairs? There are stairs. And if you are trying to do this at rush hour, it is even worse. If it is on an especially hot day, it is even worse.

If you had even looked a map you wouldn%26#39;t even be asking about taking the subway.

Just hire yourself a van or a car, and be done with this.
