First trip to New York and I%26#39;m confused about which hotel to stay at, The Michaelangelo, The Muse, The Rhiga, The Lucerne. I did have The Belvedere booked but based on reviews cancelled the reservation. I%26#39;m looking for a hotel which is fairly close to everything, clean, reasonable sized rooms and reasonable price.
Any advise would be most welcome.

Confused about what hotel to stay at in New York
If the prices are fairly the same, I would go with the Michelangelo. It%26#39;s really lovely. Next would be the Rhiga but only if you get a good room, because it is undergoing renovation so some rooms may not be up to par. The Muse and Lucerne are nice, I am probably one of the few on this board that thinks the location of the Lucerne isn%26#39;t that great (on the upper west side) for midtown stuff. But the Lucerne is a decent hotel. The Muse--again beware of type of room...some not as nice as others. Make sure when you get prices you know what they are for...rooms with one or two beds, suites, etc...

Totally agree with Voy. Order of preference of those would be
Michelangelo
Rihga
Lucerne
Muse
Not sure where the Belvedere fits in there. There%26#39;s nothing wrong with it but it%26#39;s a budget hotel and should be a lot less than say the Michelangelo. When%26#39;s your trip?
If you got the The Muse for $189/night would it change the order any? I%26#39;m trying to decide where to stay and I found that deal at The Muse and am thinking hard about booking it.
Comparative prices are always an issue. I guess it would depend on what the other options/prices were. There%26#39;s nothing wrong with the Muse (apart from small rooms and bathrooms). Just read reviews here carefully and check out photos to make sure you like it well enough.
