What is the best way/means to get from Newark Airport to NY Grand Hyatt which is on 5th and Grand Central. My daughter and I are traveling for the first time and would welcome any suggestions for using our dollars wisely over five days...
transportation to hotel
The Airport Express shuttlle bus would deposit you right at Grand Central Terminal; they leave EWR every 15-30 minutes; fare is $14/one way or $23 for a RT ticket -- children under 12 ride free, those between ages 12-16 pay only $7 each way.

Also note that the Grand Hyatt is not on Fifth Avenue. Grand Central Terminal stands on 42nd Street smack over the center of where Park Avenue should be, and the Grand Hyatt adjoins it immediately to the east, between the line of Park Avenue (which obviously does not run through the terminal building;, the next street to the west is actually the short Vanderbilt Ave.) and Lexington Avenue. If the named Avenues had numbers, Park would be Fourth (in fact, it was Fourth at one time) Lexington would be 3 1/2, Madison would be 4 1/2, and Vanderbilt would be 4 1/4.
I have taken the bus form Newark to Grand Central and it is very easy, convenient %26amp; reasonably priced.
If leaves you off around the corner from your hotel!!!
Lexington Avenue is to the east, not west, of Gr. Central Terminal.
This is helpful...thank you
I wondered if limo would be better if others were sharing costs.
We would like to see Lion King..anything under $100?
Re: limo sharing -- do you already know others who are arriving at EWR on your same flight %26amp; going to the Hyatt, or are you thinking about trying to solicit people right then %26amp; there at the terminal?
Another FYI: the base price quoted for a limo will not include the tolls into Manhattan (or tip) whereas tolls are not an extra with Airport Express. Unlikely that you%26#39;ll get roundtrip limo service -- even by sharing -- for anywhere near as cheap as Airport Express.
As for The Lion King, the price of tix (I%26#39;m assuming you wish to purchase them through TicketMaster, not a scalper) is going to depend on when you%26#39;re here. For some dates this month, for example, only very high priced ';premium seats'; are available; other dates, the full range of pricing is possible.
Rqf, no one said that Lexington was west of Grand Central. I said that the next street west of Grand Central is Vanderbilt Avenue, which statement is quite correct. In addition, if Grand Central is between Vanderbilt and Lexington, and the street to the west is Vanderbilt, I think it%26#39;s pretty clear in which direction one will find Lexington Avenue.
