My wife and I have only styayed in New York for two nights in the past, it was part of a coach tour and we were booked into the Skyline . . . . which was . . . . well only just alright ! !
We are planning to return for a longer trip later this year (independently) but but quite simply don%26#39;t know which hotel to book. We want to be in the centre - theatre district or Times Square area - 3* or 4*.
Some of the ones I have looked at were the Belvedere, Edison, Marriott Marquess, Milford Plaza and the Novotel.
Can anyone comment on these hotels or possibly suggest any others to consider?
Any information and suggestions would be much appreciated.
New York hotel suggestions pleasePS
Do these hotels include breakfast in the price?
New York hotel suggestions pleaseI would suggest reading the reviews right here.

A few alternates in the area - W Times Square, Westin Times Square, Hilton Times Square, New York Hilton, Millennium Broadway, Renaissance, Sheraton NY %26amp; Towers, Sheraton Manhattan, Michelangelo.
The ones you list are all over the price scale. The Belvedere gets good reviews as a budget option. The Edison is passable. The Novotel ok (someone recently reported here it was looking worn and in need to an update). The one I would eliminate is the Milford Plaza (locals call it the Mildew Plaza). The Marriott Marquis is the nicest of the bunch on your list by a long way. Not sure that any of these include breakfast. But breakfast is pretty cheap in NYC. The Casablanca is a nice hotel in that area that does include a continental breakfast (coffee and pastry) and also free wine and cheese in the afternoon. The Michelangelo is one of the nicest hotels in the area.
If you provide dates for your trip, I%26#39;d be happy to look up some options. If you%26#39;re coming soon, check travelzoo.com for specials.
Many thanks everyone . . . . . not quite sure when we are coming, possibly end of September or October, we haven%26#39;t decided yet.
Once again thanks.
Wherever you stay, I suggest booking as soon as possible, as that is peak period in NYC and hotels do fill up quickly.
Oh ! . . . . . I didn%26#39;t realise that, I guess the prices are at the highest then too.
Thanks.
