comedy clubs

Heading to nyc at the end of Sept. Just wondering abt comedy clubs , which ones, time to go, do u need tickets, or is it just a cover and hope to get in. Maybe one cls to the Affinia Dumont.

Also a nice bar/lounge cls to the Dumont for happy hr, or late liquid lunch?

Thanks in advance, and this forum has been very useful and enjoyable to read, to the ny experts, you guys are the best for taking the time to respond in kind, cheers

p.s. are people allowed to ride in the front seat of taxis??

One person can ride in the front seat of the cab if the back seat is full.

Info on comedy clubs (I don%26#39;t think there are any near your hotel)

For happy hour, the rooftop of the Affinia%26#39;s Shelburne Murray Hill (not far) has nice views of the ESB and Chyrsler building. For something trendier, try Asia de Cuba. El Rio Grande is a Mexican rest. nearby with good margaritas and an outdoor terrace.

Here%26#39;s another thread with more info and links on happy hours.

We went to Carolines on Broadway and had a really good night. We just phoned up a couple of days before to book tickets and picked them up at the door. I think it was about $25 to see three acts.
