Parking near Millenium Hilton

Is there any parking near the Millenium Hilton?..

Parking near Millenium Hilton

Here is some info that may help:

Driving and Parking in New York:

Driving and parking in the city is not fun and there are lots of easier ways to get around. If you must drive here please pay special attention the parking and driving rules which may be different than what you are used to. Traffic is usually heavy, but just relax a bit, you can get though it. Here is some information:

PARKING LOTS:

There are many parking lots around the city. Your hotel can give you info about the ones near them and if any have ';deals'; for hote guests. Rates about $35 per day, but you can find cheaper rates in areas not near the action. Parking lots have their rates and hours posted at the entrance. Many lots list their lowest price, which is usually for 陆 hour, on a large sign outside. Be careful, the lot with the lowest 陆 hour rate may not have the lowest daily rate. Don%26#39;t be afraid to ask how much it will cost. Also check to see what credit cards they accept. The tax rate for parking lots is 18%.

Most parking lots in the City DO NOT allow in/out privileges.

Most lots in this area are open 24 hours a day and accept credit cards, but check before leaving your car.

ON STREET PARKING:

Street parking is very limited. Read the signs carefully. The fact that there are lots of other cars there is no indication that parking is allowed (Some areas allow commercial parking but not passenger cars.) On weekends and in the evenings there is more parking available. There is usually NO PARKING on one side of a street Monday and Thursday and NO PARKING on the other side of the same street on Tuesdays and Friday. There is no parking in Crosswalks and near Fire Hydrants or in front of most religious buildings. If you park on the street check the signs and read them carefully. Parking rules are strictly enforced and tickets are expensive (most violations are $105.00)

If you park in a tow-away-zone your car may be towed to the impound lot and you will be charged for it. You will have to pay the fine and towing charge before they will give you your car back. This can be very expensive and can take a lot of time depending on which lot your car is taken to. Handicap plates and permits must follow all parking regulations. Parking meters are usually in effect every day except Sunday, and from 8 or 9 AM to 6 to 10 PM. Check signs carefully. Some areas have one meter for the block, you have to pay and put the ticket in the car on the dashboard.

On many holidays the weekday rule is still in effect. In the city you can call 311 for more information.

DRIVING IN THE CITY

1) Expect lots of traffic, especally on Friday evenings.

2) You CAN NOT MAKE A RIGHT TURN AT A RED LIGHT anywhere in the city. There no signs at traffic signs that say this. Signs are posted most roads entering the city explaining this. Drivers are expected to know this and the fact that you are not from New York may not stop you from getting a ticket. Just assume there is a sign at every traffic light that says ';NO TURN ON RED'; and you will be OK.

2) Pedestrians tend to ignore the signals and will cross anywhere and against the light. You can tell the New Yorkers at any corner because we are jaywalking. Pedestrians have the right of way if you are making a turn into the street they are crossing.

3) ';PASSENGER CARS ONLY'; signs on some roads mean that vehicles with commercial plates and trucks are NOT permitted to drive on that road.

Parking near Millenium Hilton

Do everything in your power to avoid driving in New York.

Go to iconparking.com and select financial district. I think they have 2 lots that should be near the Mill. Hilton. Another way to check is go to mapquest.com Get a map of the hotel then search for garages nearby.

There%26#39;s an Icon garage on Barclay Street, but I agree 100% with previous comments - DON%26#39;T DRIVE if you can avoid it.

That Millenium usually offers a parking ';package'; whereby their valet parking is included in the room rate. But one must be cautious because depending on base room rates at the time of your stay, the package may not truly represent much of a savings.

For comparison purposes, the Millenium charges $48/day for valet parking -- the only kind it offers since it has no parking garage of its own (they may very well use the Barclay St. garage previously referred to).

Assuming you%26#39;re coming via the New Jersey Turnpike and given the Millenium%26#39;s proximity to the Holland Tunnel (exit 14C of the NJ Turnpike), this destination actually requires little in-Manhattan driving. And it will be less aggravation if you arrive on a Saturday or Sunday, or after 6 PM on a weekday.

The ';parking package'; at the Millinium Hilton is a rip-off if you plan to use your car during your stay. They charge you a service fee EVERY TIME you retrieve your car!! WTF?

It%26#39;s fine if you park the car at the hotel and leave it there the whole time untouched, but otherwise, use the Barclay Street garage.

I%26#39;ve had the misfortune to often have to park at NYC hotels and I don%26#39;t remember one that did not have that horrible no in/out privileges rule.

Yep, that ';no ins/outs'; policy is an expensive PIA. But good news, Warmwinds, there is at least one Manhattan hotel which doesn%26#39;t impose that -- the Omni Berkshire, and parking costs ';only'; $35/day.
