Dumb question....

Ok when someone says X is on the second floor, does that mean it is the second floor or the third floor. What I%26#39;m really asking is do you have a %26#39;ground%26#39; floor or does it start at 1.

Told you it was a dumb question!

Dumb question....

Don%26#39;t usually have a ground floor. First floor is usually the ground floor. Sometimes referred to as the lobby floor. Ta. MMM!

Dumb question....

I don%26#39;t think it%26#39;s a dumb question as on my first visit I was confused. If a store directory said first floor, I climbed the stairs. Took a while to get used to!

Sorry, laptop playing up.....I definitely only pushed it once!

The first floor is one flight up from the street level ground floor,

I do it all the time.

Poppa

In the USA the we usually start with the first floor, not the ground floor. Sometimes we call the first floor the lobby, seldom the ground floor, but one flight up is almost always the second floor.

Agree totally with CPINY.

The first floor is street level. The 2nd floor is one flight up.

Always!

Thanks. I was trying to work out how many floors the hotel I am looking at has (i.e., how many I am going to have to walk up! lol!).
