Internet access to keep informed during our trip

How do we have access to the internet while we are in NYC? This is the greatest way to find out about events, buy tickets, get directions...how can I stay connected if we don%26#39;t have a laptop? I am really hooked on TA too!!

Thanks,

Simigirl

NyWhiz,

Perfect, I printed out a complete list of internet cafe%26#39;s from this post. I now know I can go to the visitor%26#39;s center if needed or the library.

Thanks,

Stumbled across this list just yesterday:

Here%26#39;s a page to consult during your visit:

Look for the ';DAILY NEW YORK'; column, and check out the subheading ';TOP PRIORITIES';.

Have a great trip!

The APPLE store in NYC is located at 103 Prince Street between Mercer and Greene Streets.

They offer free demonstrations of their products.

In their London outlet we walked in chose a computer from about 30 available entered our HOTMAIL account and were on the way to contacting everyone on our address list.

We stumbled on this by accident and went back a few days later to update the %26#39;folks back home%26#39;.

Just offering another alternative for the %26#39;frugal%26#39; traveler.

Just curious? Do you think NYC is a small, backwater town? A place that wouldnt have banks with ATM machines, or internet access???

We have technology!

Just remembered, as EVENING has mentioned technology abounds in NYC and many of the restaurants of the fast food variety and chain coffee shops are equipped with Wi-Fi.

I%26#39;m sure you are familiar with that technology, eh?

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for those great suggestions, that%26#39;s really helpful. I appreciate all your ideas and comments. You have all made me feel more comfortable about venturing to a big city like New York!

Simi Valley is not exactly a backwater, LOL. I lived just down the road a piece for 13 years in Agoura.

If you think you will need to PRINT something, you might want to call the internet cafe in advance and see if they have the facilities to do that (and what the charge is).

The largest internet cafe (over 800 computer I believe) is on 42nd St between broadway and 8th AVe on the south side of the street.
