taking my first cruise out of NYC to the Bahamas, July 16.aking the train from Boston with husband and two girls 9 and 11. T Thinking of arriving a day or so early to see the sights. I%26#39;m looking for suggestions on hotels near the NYC passenger terminal ( 12th and 55th st).
Also, first time for all in NYC. what do you suggest as a ';must see'; for the kids.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

You would like advice? Then here is mine: you DON%26#39;T want to stay near the passenger ship terminal. Most of the hotels you would like and almost all of the sights you will want to see are a mile or more away. (It is, for example, one mile from the Passenger Ship Terminal to Sixth Aenue and 55th Street.) The neighborhood around the Terminal is not interesting at all, nor does it have many (if any) places worth staying, let alone eating at or seeing. Instead, stay anywhere more tourist-friendly in midtown, and then just take a cab over to the terminal when it is time to go.

Agree with GWB. There aren%26#39;t many hotels that close. YOu%26#39;ll still need a taxi to get there with your luggage so you might as well stay some place a bit nicer. (Also, I THINK the terminal is at 45 st. not 55st). Check the Blakely Hotel or the Rihga Royal. Both are nice and have 1 bedroom suites for your family. The Belvedere would be a good budget option as would the Hilton Garden Inn Times Square.
