fajitas

I am looking for a place that serves good steak and chicken fajitas. My boys can be picky eaters, but we never have a problem if there%26#39;s fajitas on the menu. It doesn%26#39;t have to be a Mexican restaurant. Location doesn%26#39;t really matter because we will just work it into our travels somewhere.

Obviously, I am getting to the end of my trip planning if my focus is now fajitas. :)

Thanks again!

There are these fast food places that serve pretty nice (and cheap!) fajitas. Try:

or if you give me your location, I can find another place closer.

travelcoll, menupages is a great website. Aside from being able to look for a certain kind of food in a certain area, you can even do a food search and they%26#39;ll tell you which restaurants have what on the menu. Just click ';find a food.';

I like El Rio Grande on Lexington %26amp; 38 st. It%26#39;s not far from Grand Central Terminal. Where are you staying?

The ones at El Cantinero (University place and 12th street) are very good. Your kids will love them. You can also have the frozen margarita, it is so good and so strong that you won%26#39;t mind if your kids don%26#39;t love the fajitas ;)

By the way.....this is not an expensive place!

Thanks everyone! Great information. It was exactly what I was hoping for. We are staying at the Affinia Dumont (thanks to you, NYWHIZ). So the restaurant at Lexington and 38th sounds like a good possibility. Also I have been reading positive comments about the El Cantinero and it seems like my kind of place.

I think you guys should set up a help hotline phone number so we can contact you when we got lost in the city. :)

5 more days....!

LOL. Hotline phone sounds like a good business idea! ;)

i like these places that serve great fajitas

mexican radio (soho)

19 cleveland place btwn spring and kenmare st

all there food is excellent; large portions, great margaritas; great flautas, tacos suave and tostadas; spicy!

el sombrero (lower east side)

108 stanton corner of ludlow

cheap, barebones, downtown, very lively and crowded at night; excellent fajitas that smoke up the whole room! and take-out mgargaritas, too. :)

el rey del sol (chelsea)

232 w. 14th st btwn 7th and 8th ave

my favorite mexican restaurant in the city; very simple; very crowded at night on the weekends, esp. in the summer, but during the week it%26#39;s no problem; nice outdoor garden in the back; awesome classic cheese enchiladas; great jalapeno bean dip.

los dos molinos (grammercy/union square)

119 e. 18th st btwn irving place and park ave south

lively fun place; everything is very spicy!; large margaritas

mi cocina (greenwich village)

57 jane st at 8th ave

nice, large restaurant; grilled skirt steak or chicken breat fajitas; yummy refried pinto beans with chorizo!

If you find yourself in Greenwich Village, please don%26#39;t bother with Tio Pepe on West 4th Street. Blech!

Looks like finding good fajitas won%26#39;t be too hard at all.

Muchos Gracias!!!
