Hi, We will be staying at the Courtyard Marriott at times Sq. and

need a good breakfast coffee shop and a good ,preferably Italian but will to try others, dinner spot. Casual and not too expensive. We will be with our 9 year old son. Any suggestions welcomed.

Andrew%26#39;s coffee shop is the closest diner I can find on menupages. Sounds fine.

The Red Flame coffee shop on 44 st b/w 5th %26amp; 6th (nearer 6th) would also work.

For Italian, any of the places we regularly mention as Italians in the theater district will work (John%26#39;s pizzeria, Orso, Lattanzi, Baldoria, Becco, Basilica), --Trattoria Trecolori is probably the closest. I just noticed a place called EtceteraEtcetera on menupages, owned by the same people as ViceVersa which is very good. The place looks fun and the food looks and sounds great.

But I also urge you to eat outside the immediate area of your hotel. Go down to the village. Maybe try John%26#39;s pizzeria down there or La Lanterna.

cafe europa is on the corner of 43rd and broadway. they have breakfast items like egg and sausage wraps, egg and bacon on a muffin, etc. until 11am. throughout the day they have salads, sandwiches, yogurt, fruit, pastries and baked goods.

europan is similar, except it%26#39;s on 672 8th ave btwn 42nd and 43rd

city market cafe

48 w. 48th st btwn 5th and 6th ave

breakfast til 10:30am; egg sandwiches, omelettes, egg platters with ham, sausage, etc. also have pancakes and french toast; pastries and baked goods; salads, sandwiches, bagels, burgers, pizza, baked potatoes, panini, soup, etc.

nice italian restaurant; excellent pasta a la vodka and chicken caesar salad

Check the website for the Marriott TQ. When we were there last year they offered a complete breakfast each morning complimentary.
