Hello Everyone,
I am planning a trip to NYC Sept. 1-3 and plan on going to the Friday night and Saturday Yankees games. I am coming from Cleveland, OH. Can anyone recommend a good way to find a cheap flight? Right now I am only seeing about $192 per person from the %26#39;normal%26#39; flight searches.
Thanks for any help!
Cheap Flights
Gosh $192 sounds great. But look on kayak.com and you might click on nearby airports for Cleveland.
I see $189 on a number of airline for weekend of July 14 but maybe your weekend is more.
Cheap Flights
dont know if you checked it yet ryben but lately for me jetblue has been the answer. Check out this page also www.sidestep.com
$189.00 from Akron/ Canton. A 45 minute drive south but I believe the parking is cheaper than the Cleveland airport. And as an added bonus... I%26#39;ve never had to arrive more than 45 minutes before a flight is scheduled to leave. Just confirm your reservation online the day before and walk directly to the security check-in (as long as you only have a carry-on). My last trip there... 15 minutes. And that included a 5 min. wait for a cup of coffee. ;)
Wow, I%26#39;d be thrilled with $192. All I%26#39;m finding from Columbus (for Labor Day weekend) is $260!
NYCforMe -- if you don%26#39;t mind driving to Dayton, check United%26#39;s flights into LGA.
Caveat: I%26#39;ve not priced that run lately %26amp; given the cost of gasoline, the savings in airfare may be offset by the commute from/to Columbus.
Keep checking. The rates change day to day. I watched rates on Northwest go from $247 down to $98. (That is Detroit to LGA.) Once you book, continue to check. Airlines will give you a voucher for the difference, although there is a $25 service fee involved. It is worth it if you book at a high fare.
Thanks, CockleCove. I have checked flights from Dayton, and so far have only found a $20 savings. I live about an hour from Dayton, so I think I would have to save more than that to make it worth my while! (I%26#39;m only 20 minutes from Port Columbus) I%26#39;ll keep checking - maybe I can get a last minute deal if I wait long enough.
