My husband and I are going to NYC in September and are trying to decide between seeing Wicked or Altar Boyz. We can get great seats for Altar Boyz, and what seem like okay seats for Wicked. Does anyone have any opinions on these two shows?
altar boyz or wicked
I absolutely loved Altar Boyz but haven%26#39;t seen Wicked so have nothing to compare it with.
altar boyz or wicked
We saw both on our recent trip, and while I enjoyed both, I would definitely give the nod to Wicked if I had to pick one. Don%26#39;t know if you have the time and/or finances allow, but we picked up our Altar Boyz tickets at the TKTS both for 1/2 price. Our seats weren%26#39;t great for that one (first row and to the far right), but we still really enjoyed the show.
Haven%26#39;t seen either - but have to give a rave to Hairspray if you can get those ... Ta. MMM!
Two different experiences - one is Broadway, one Off-Broadway. I would see Wicked, and if time allows, get 1/2 tickets for Altar Boyz (usually available at the booths), as previously advised.
Agree with NYCgirl. They%26#39;re not really comparable. If you haven%26#39;t seen a Broadway show, see one whether Wicked or something else that you might get discounted tickets for. Look on Broadwaybox.com for broadway discounts. They also have Altar Boyz discounts therel. Seat location for Altar Boyz is less important than a broadway show since the theater%26#39;s small. The discounted tickets for AB may not be as good as the regular priced ones, but shouldn%26#39;t affect your enjoyment of the show.
Thanks for the advice! Sounds like Wicked is the way to go. We may try to squeeze in Altar Boyz if we find tickets while we are there.
