Hi,
I am from the UK and have seen a package where we can get married on the World Yatch cruise in New York.
Has anybody been on the World Yatch? or seen a wedding on the World Yatch?
Recommendations or negatives graetly appreciated, we would be a wedding party of between 10-20 age range 12 - 65.
Many Thanks
A-M
World Yatch wedding
Don%26#39;t know if you%26#39;re talking about a private yacht trip or just taking your party on one of the group World Yacht cruises. The Bateaux NY cruises are generally thought to be better food and a somewhat nicer experience. Have a look and compare

World Yatch wedding
Hi,
Thanks for your speedy reply, as far as I can tell, the ceremony would be on the World yatch before the other guests board and then the Wedding Party would be seated for dinner along with everyone else... this is the bit I%26#39;m really not sure about.
Also considering Central Park as an option but am open to any suggestions, do you know of anywhere that will do the ceremony and the reception in the same place?
Not sure how easy it is to arrange without using the travel companies locations.
I have had a look at the website you suggested and it looks very nice, so will e:mail them and ask what they can provide.
There have been loads of people on this board who%26#39;ve gotten married here, some with the help of a wedding planner/co. and some on their own with our help. ;) I%26#39;d say most have used Central Park for the ceremony and then had a meal elsewhere. It will be a LOT different if you have 10 people vs. 20 so I think before continuing you need to sort that out. For example, you need no permit to use most places in Central Park for parties of less than 20, but 20 or more you do. Here%26#39;s a page with info.

Several couples have used the Ladies Pavillion near Hernshead as a location. There are 2 officiants that have been happily used, Rev. Leslie (a man) and Rev Alison. Info here

Welly: I%26#39;m one of the couples who planned my NY wedding (Central Park, March this year) via this board. It is nice and easy to do but I can imagine with a wedding party of 10-20 you might want to use a planner instead.
I have the name of a US-based wedding planner who comes highly recommended by several others on the board. She is very professional and does some organization for UK tour operators (like Virgin or Kuoni - not saying that it%26#39;s them specifically who use her but similar ones). She saved ac1973%26#39;s wedding and I spoke to her to bounce some ideas off although I did not go with her in the end. Since she is US-based, her rates are much lower than anything UK operators can offer you but for exactly the same thing. Email me at flyingirl at gmail.com for her contact details.
I%26#39;m so glad flyingirl offered you the benefit of her experience! I just took a look at the whitesandwedding site and was frankly taken aback by how little is included in, e.g., the basic Marriott package for which they charge more than $2000 USD. The only way I would consider it is if they also have an arrangement with the Marquis or other hotels whereby you%26#39;d get accommodations at a bargain rate not otherwise available.
And it may very well matter less to you than it did/would to me (my maternal grandmother %26amp; great-grandfather were florists), but I%26#39;d sure like to have more of a say in what my bridal bouquet looks like, rather than having to either settle for whatever is included in a package or pay extra for flowers which truly delight my soul ;-)
My deep apologies, I meant to post this under misty%26#39;s wedding question.
thanks for all your replies, its amazing how quickly this post has worked its way down to page 9......
A company in the UK (Kuoni) offer a wedding and dinner package at Foleys restaurant in Times square (think it is in the renaissance hotel) you get married in a private part of the restaurant and then sstay there for a sit own meal, this sounds interesting as it would save having to ship people from one part of NY to another. I have seen a few reviews for Foleys restaurant all o0f which are good.
We really want to book a package as with only having been to New York once and don%26#39;t really want to be shipping our guests (most of whom have never been to NY)
I think if I get a wedding planner involved the cost may spiral out of control.......
What%26#39;s the price of the package and what does it include? When are you doing this and what would you like???
the package is:-
拢990 per couple ($1850)
Private ceremony in Foley鈥檚 Restaurant, in the Renaissance Hotel, with a breathtaking view overlooking Times Square
Champagne toast after wedding ceremony
Romantic three course dinner for two at Foley鈥檚 Wedding guests at Foley鈥檚: 拢79 ($145)per person to include three course dinner at Foley鈥檚 and glass of champagne to toast the Bride and Groom. Available Monday to Friday excluding holiday periods.
It is a very basic package and until I enquire further I will not know how much I would have to pay for flowers / hair / photographer etc
We want something simple but memorable and don%26#39;t want to get too tied up in loads of little details.
many thanks for any advise you can offer.......
ooops forgot the when, we are currently looking at June 2007.
