Anyone...please walk me through a few of these.
1. Cheapest and easiest way to get from Newark (arrival 2pm) to Time Square (Hotel Belvedere). 4 people traveling, 2 adults..2 older children.
2. Best options for dinners that are economical but still tasty.
3. Info on 1/2 price tickets. Would like to see a 2pm show. How much to budget.
4. Wicked lotto?
Big Thanks!

You can take the airtrain from Newark to Penn Station. You would then either have to take the Subway to TS or a cab.
For what you will spend for 4 people you are probably better off arranging for a car service. The difference in price would be minimal and it would be easier to just get in a car and be taken directly to the hotel.
1) A cab from the airport would be the easiest and not much more than the train/subway combo for 4 persons.
2) more info please, type, budget?
3) TKTS booths at Times Square (busy) and South Street Seaport (not so busy) - figure $50-60 per ticket
4) each one of you should put your name in for the wicked lottery, but note, only 2 tickets per ';winner'; and even if you winn 2 times you may not be sitting together (2 tickets together, another 2 together)
Here%26#39;s the info on lotteries and rush tickets:

thanks for the info. how much should i budget one-way for the cab ride from Newwark to TS for 4 people.
1) Here are all your options
http://www.panynj.gov/aviation/egtsfram.htm
';older children'; doesn%26#39;t help with prices. Some of the options have children%26#39;s fares or reduced fares if the kids are under 12.
Assuming they%26#39;re over 12, public transport will be ~ $15/person plus a taxi to your hotel or ~ $65. A car service will be $43-50 for 4 plus toll ($10) plus tip or about $70 and a lot easier. Carmel has a coupon on their website for $4 off an airport pick up but when you reserve, you have to tell them you%26#39;re using a coupon and get a code # from them.

2) Some options for dinner are
%26gt;Carmine%26#39;s -family style Italian food. Don%26#39;t order too much. Portions are HUGE.
%26gt;Virgil%26#39;s BBQ.
%26gt;John%26#39;s pizzeria
%26gt;Carnegie Deli (share sandwiches and buy extra bread)

3) TKTS booth info here including locations, hours, what%26#39;s been available recently, prices

broadwaybox.com good option for discounts in advance (or at the theater when you arrive)

4) Rush for Wicked
General Rush Lottery: Each day, 2陆 hours prior to show time (11:30 AM for 2 PM matinees; 12:30 PM for 3 PM matinees; 4:30 PM for 7 PM performances; 5:30 PM for 8 PM performances), people who present themselves at the Gershwin Theatre box office will have their names placed in a hat. 30 minutes later, names will be drawn for 28 front row seats at $25 each. This lottery is available only in-person at the box office, with a limit of two tickets per person, cash only. Photo ID required
Thanks for the help.
I should clarify, the children are 8 and 10 ...therefore, are not charged by Liberty Newark Express. This transit drops off at Port Authority, Bryant Park, and Grand Central. I don%26#39;t know where any of these are in relationship to our hotel (Belvedere) in Time Square.
I think because I have never been to the city, I am still not quite getting the options for travel from Newark to Time Square. I really need the smartest way to go...financially.
Thanks for helping me some more with this.
you want cheapest; you got it:
1.) #62 NJ Transit bus to Newark Penn Station ($1.25 adult / $0.60 child)
2.) PATH from Newark Penn Station to 14th Street with a change at Journal Square station ($1.50)
3)NYC L subway at 14th Street station @ 6th Avenue to 14th Street @ 8th Avenue
NYC C/E subway from 14th Street @ 8th Avenue to 50th Street @ 8th Avenue ($2 adult; free for children 44'; shorter)
Ouch! I guess you showed me. That might be a little two hard. Thanks for posting it though.
The easiest way without a doubt is to just get in a cab.
I can have a free company car pick me up at the airport and never do - its too much hassle finding them, unless you%26#39;re willing to pay for the driver to park the car, and come in and wait for you with a sign with your name on it. Then you get to follow him with your luggage to the parking area...
