we are going to Niagara Falls in Oct and I am wondering what with the terrorists and all whether it is difficult to go back and forth over the border. We want to see the falls from both sides,of course and would like to see the town of Niagara On the Lake. Any information on this?

Problems with crossing into Canada?
We were on the Canadian side last week (I believe the terrorist thing happened a few days prior). We had no problem- they ask for your id ask where you%26#39;d be stay and if you have anything to declare (tobacco anf firearms)- if you have tinted windows (we did) they ask you to roll them down. Getting into US was almost as easy- I thought it was nice, he did the normal questioning with my hubby and then he talked to my oldest- asking if she knew who we are and if the little one belonged to us (she was taken aback and just shook her head, you spend alll these years teaching your children not to speak to strangers and I was cringing when he started to ask her questions). For us the expierence was easy and comforting to know that the US customs asked my child if she knew us and all. All in all- just be polite and answer all questions truthfully. Have fun!
Problems with crossing into Canada?
Generally, getting into Canada is easier that coming back into the US, but if you have all your paperwork in order, you should be OK...
Niagra Expert or anyone else, have you heard of the Red Coach Inn? It sounds nice and sort of different than all of the glizy hotels but still close to everything. Opinions?
Thanks,Coleridge
The Red Coach Inn is very nice, and the food very tasty. Food a little pricier - but definitely worth it. I saw the rooms personally in 2004 and they were ';charming'; - very nice...
BTW - also close to the Falls........
Thanks Guru, but now we are thinking we want to stay on the Canadian side. I hear it is nicer and we also want to visit Niagara On the Lake. Maybe it will be not so gaudy, more natural?

Hi
We stayed ata B%26amp;B at Niagra on the Lake last July and it was beautiful.
the way to do the falls thingo is to drive to Queenstown and take the shuttle to Niagra.
It stops at all the attractions along the way. You can buy day passes at the Butterfly enclosure. Which is really worth the visit if you have time for it.
Hope this helps

Niagara On The Lake is a beautiful community, I%26#39;m sure you won%26#39;t be disappointed - lots of nice B and B%26#39;s....
Very Romantic place..........
Make sure you do Cave of the Winds on NY side while down by the Falls....
Thanks everyone for all of your suggestions. I am wondering whether the fall would be too cold for the Cave of the Wind and the Maid of the Mist. We will be there about the middle of Oct.
