Park 79 hotel - neighbouring restaurants?

Hi there,

we%26#39;ll be in NY next week. Just wondering for our first night in town if there are many restaurants around 79th and Columbus.

Its my first time to NY so I have no idea what to expect. I assume we won%26#39;t venture too far on our first night since we will be getting at our hotel at around 7 - 8pm...

Some lovely restaurants in the area. I like Ocean Grill, on Columbus bet. 77th-78th. Diagonally across the street is Isabella%26#39;s, also very good. There%26#39;s a terrific neighborhood Italian restaurant, Pappardella, on Columbus and 75th.

I suggest you drop your bags and take a stroll down Columbus and then back up Amsterdam. You%26#39;ll trip across a zillion restaurants. Also a lot on Amsterdam up past 79th St.

Columbus Ave. is loaded with restaurants as is Amsterdam, 2 blocks away.

Menupages.com is a great place to look up restaurants. Pick west 70s or west 80s and have a look. You can look by cuisine.

I like Calle Ocho. Here%26#39;s a thread with some other options (your hotel is right near the Mus. of Nat. History)

I know its NYC summer restaurant week when we%26#39;re there... I%26#39;m a bit confused by this, do all restaurants join in?

we have a deal like this in my city but its optional for restaurants and they post the special menus online...
