Confused - Watertaxi

I would like to take the Watertaxi from Manhattan to Brooklyn to try the Grimaldi%26#39;s Pizza and Ice Cream Factory. (didn%26#39;t have time to go last time, I must go this time! and walk on the Brooklyn Bridge! Cant wait!!)

I am looking at the watertaxi website (http://www.nywatertaxi.com/).. and I am a bit confused...

(hope my Question is not a silly one...)

- Should I look at the Hop-On/Hop-Off Schedule or the Commuting Schedule?

- Do I get on from SOUTH ST SEAPORT or WALL ST PIER 11?

- and I am supposed to get off at FULTON FERRY LANDING right?

Thanks for you help!

=)

Confused - Watertaxi

Go to South Street Seaport, the water taxi will take you almost directly across to Fulton Ferry Landing, that is correct.

Confused - Watertaxi

You%26#39;re using the hop on/off service. By going only 1 stop (from the Seaport to Fulton St.) the fare is only $5. But you could get on at any of the stops you want and get off at Fulton St. but then you%26#39;d have to pay either $10 or the price of the full hop on/off fare, depending on how long you ride. If you%26#39;re staying in the Times Square area you could actually get on at west 44 st. at the Hudson River and travel around the south end of the island and get out at Fulton St. It would take an hour.

I went to South Street Seaport a few weeks ago looking to take the Water Taxi to Brroklyn, but when I went up to their stand the girl told me I%26#39;d have to buy the full hop on hop off ticket at $25, but said I wasn%26#39;t able just to go over from there for $5.

We had to walk back up Fulton Street towards the financial district and get a subway over, it was only one stop. I actually took a wrong turning coming out of the subway and got lost , but I soon found my way. Make sure to check out the South Street Seaport before heading over to Brooklyn, and you will not be dissapointed with Grimaldi%26#39;s and the Ice Cream Factory, then when you walk back over the Brooklyn Bridge and you come back to Manhattan there is a subway stop just as you come off the bridge.

That%26#39;s news to me laidmc. It clearly says on the water taxi website nywatertaxi.com $5 for a one stop ride.

Sorry I got your screenname wrong laimdoc!

I took the watertaxi from South St. Seaport to Brooklyn last September, and it was only $5.

nywhiz,

I was there on 6th June and that is what the girl on the Watertaxi stand told me. I had read previous posts before I went and that is what I had planned to do.

I would love to know because it is by far the easiest way of getting to Grimaldis. Has anyone else bought there tickets at this stand?

I plan on returning later this year so it would be great to know exactly how to get the watertaxi over, I don%26#39;t think their web site is very clear on the subject.

I would email the water taxi people and ask them. Here%26#39;s the page with an email form

http://www.nywatertaxi.com/nywt.aspx?s=con

Tell them you were told you could take a taxi for $5 1 stop but on June 6th when you attempted to do this were told you had to buy a $25 hop on/off ticket despite the fact that their website says otherwise. Ask THEM which is correct and please report back here ;)

I hope when I come this weekend laimdoc%26#39;s incident wont happen and I will be able to try the watertaxi for $5!

jodcha,

I have already emailed NY Watertaxi and I am awaiting a reply, I will post back as soon as I get one.
