Hubby and I are coming up Sat and staying until Tues (unfortunately we will not catch the firework show as I need to be at work on Wed...work in acct and well its month end close).
Anyway I was wondering about the weather up there with all the rains we have experienced. It looks to be decent but just wondering.
Also I see on a previous post there was a fire on Canada street...and whereabouts was this fire and which store were affected.
And thanks for the recommendation on the Italian restaurant...The Cherry Tomato - found the website, .www.thecherrytomato.com Will need to check it out that out when we are there (we usually go to Marios but a change of pace is good).
Coming up this weekend...
Under Shopping page I wrote all about who was affected by the fire but I%26#39;d be happy to recap. 5 stores burned down, across from Shepards Park, among them were : A Fish Fry that used to be called Kaitlyn%26#39;s gifts and candy/ice cream store, Wizards Den, Bear Trading Co not to be confused with Lake George Trading company which is still open (loud music, home decor mainly lots of great candy like Ashers Oh I love this store!), Kites Tails%26amp;Toys (loud music, lots of fun toys including toilets full of fake poo, this is a sister store to Lake George Trading, and Psychadellic Soul what a loss) and Bob%26#39;s Ice Cream, my fav ice cream shop on the strip. These were right in front of Price Chopper Grocery Store. Under shopping I listed some nice new stores that have opened that are worth a look, including my new fav Don%26#39;s Gift in the Lake George mall on Canada Street same side as Shepards Park, 2nd floor down. Amazing prices for Lake George, I wonder how they%26#39;ll survive at these prices, but its a nice family with decent gifts and fun stuff for the kids. I already started Christmas Shopping :) As far as the rain, we have had alot of rain, please check travel advisories on your way, Albany has been devastated in many areas as well as other parts of I-90 and surrounding areas. Lake George is higher than Im used to, but so far no damages really reported that I%26#39;ve heard. There are posted signs where not to swim or wade, please watch for these its really important for safety. I see no loss of boats or schedules so far, and weekend looks to be great. Have a good, safe fun trip!
Coming up this weekend...
Thank you, thank you so much for the information. Really cant wait to go. Glad to see the weather will hold up for the stay as well.
Sad to see what happened to those stores. I have only been up that area twice previously so I can really picture them but regardless its still devasting to hear.
