Affinia Manhattan

I have read the reviews and it looks excellent, but I rarely see it mentioned on the forums for some reason. It seems like a great value.

Anybody been there or heard things?

Affinia Manhattan

All the Affinia hotels are excellent. This is the closest to Madison Square Garden, Penn STation and Times Square (but still 10 blocks away from TS). It%26#39;s not my favorite location but very convenient for a tourist.

Would you say that the Affinia Dumont is the best of the bunch? I am considering this for my trip in March - although they website says no availability - I am presuming this is because it is so far in advance?

Yes, probably because March is almost a year away!

I just stayed at the Affinia Manhattan for 3 nights at the end of May. I couldnt think of one thing to complain about....You are just a short walk away from Empire State Building, Times Square and the subway....Lots of restaurants and shops nearby....You will enjoy.....Our room was big, excellent maid service, excellent concierge......Do try it..........

Angelaann, I don%26#39;t know whether the Dumont is ';the best of the bunch.'; It%26#39;s very well liked on this board and fairly recently renovated. It has some extras like an onsite spa. I happen to like the location of the Affinia 50 the best b/c it%26#39;s closer to Central Park, Rockefeller Center and a crosstown bus to the theater district. But the Dumont has an onsite spa and restaurant not found at the 50.

Thanks NY whiz - would rather have good location rather than the spa - will look at prices for the 50 - when they release rooms ( i like to plan ahead!!)

Hi HB,

We just returned from a week at the Affinia Dumont and we loved it! We had room 3205 which is a corner room with wonderful views. The hotel is very quiet because there are only 7 rooms per floor. I heard a door shut one time and that was the only inside noise we ever heard. The elevators are quick and I think we only rode one twice with other people onboard.

We also loved the Murray Hill location. It%26#39;s close to everything but you%26#39;re in an actual New York neighborhood which made us feel more like we temporarily lived there then like we were just visiting. We will definitely be returning to the Dumont...maybe in March!!
