Yankees game?

Hi,

My husband and I are going to be in NYC for 4 days starting July 26th. I haven%26#39;t been there before, but my husband has. He thinks that we REALLY have to go to a Yankees game, not so much to see them play, more so just for the experience. We are in Minneapolis, so all of our baseball games are played in a dome. We are not huge baseball fans, but do manage to get to a Twins game every year at least once.

I guess my question is, would it be worth it to see a game in an outdoor stadium? Is the experience worth it? I am afraid we will lose precious sight seeing time but going to the game. Is it easy to get to the stadium via subway from midtown?

Yankees game?

My recommendation is not to go to the game. You have the ability and go to baseball games, not like someone from outside of the US who wants the experience. IMO, you will waste many hours when you only have 4 days in NYC. BTW, it is easy to get to Yankee Stadium by subway from midtown.

Maybe you could fit in a tour of Yankee Stadium, but no game?

Yankee Stadium is kind of special though. Perhaps a night game, when the sights are closed? And yes, the stadium is very reachable by subway.

I went to a night game in May (Red Sox Opener!!) and I think it is well worth doing. Loved it loved it loved it, and I don%26#39;t really care about going to the games here at home.

The fans are great, it%26#39;s so much fun, different than games in other parts of the country and we got tickets at stub hub for not a whole lot of money.

It is only one train from Grand Central, straight shot.

As a girly girl who loves NYC (and am coming back in July) I say go for it :), you%26#39;ll enjoy......I would go again anytime.

Thanks everyone! We decided last night that we are going to the game. I am sure once we get there, I will be so glad that we did.
