In Brooklyn is fantastic....took a ride there today, what a place. Plus, the view of Lady Liberty is UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
If you can get over there, do so, for a nice shopping experience.
Also, had brunch at Alma, this was very nice, with an interesting menu. Not food that I normally eat but I did find something and it was delicious.
Great view of Lower Manhattan, %26amp; reasonable prices (for brunch, anyway).
Fairway
May have to get an expert to show me the area!! One for the new list of %26#39;to do%26#39; I think :)
Fairway
I noticed that the NY Water Taxi is offering FREE rides to Fairway in Red Hook on Saturdays with purchases of $100 or more at Fairway.

Yes, I saw the water taxi pull out while there.
Wouldn%26#39;t be too hard to spend $100.00 there, such a fabulous selection.
Okay, you%26#39;ve reeled me in! What is the Fairway in Brooklyn? Sounds like a shopping experience I might look forward to.
Please elaborate for those not in the know!
It is a great gourmet/food/grocery store.
There is one location on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, on Broadway near W. 75th Street.
Directions?
Thanx!
Thanks NYCgirl. Yet another place to add to the ever expanding list of ';places to visit in NYC';!

Directions for getting there there using public transporation
Take subway and/or bus: A, C, F, 2, 3, 4, 5 to Jay St./Boro Hall or M, N, R to Court St. station. Take the B-61 Bus from the corner of Jay St. and Willoughby St. or the corner of Court St. and Atlantic St. towards Red Hook to last stop (Corner of Van Brunt and Beard St.. ) Walk south on Van Brunt St. one very long block to the end at the water鈥檚 edge.
F train to Smith/9th St. station. Take B-77 that stops at Van Dyke and Van Brunt St. Walk on Van Brunt St. to the end.
Let%26#39;s give some thought to getting there using public transportation in order to shop. How do you get home toting two, three or more bags full of groceries. After all it is a supermarket and why do we go to supermarkets - to shop of course.
You could use the Water Taxi and if you spend $100 dollars the ride is free (both ways?). I shop at the 132nd store at least twice a month. If I spend $100 I will have at least six or seven bags to carry home (I go by car). Can you envision getting multiple bags onto the water taxi and then getting them home using public transportation or to your car if you are parked nearby. You can, of course, take along your shopping cart.
Is it a tourist destination since you can go to water%26#39;s edge and view the Statue of Liberty and the NYC skyline? You can do that at any number of other places easier to get to. If you are intent on visiting a Fairway to see an interesting supermarket go to the store at Broadway and 74th St. or the larger store at 132nd and the Hudson River. Both are easier to get to.
I don%26#39;t think I was saying this was a tourist destination, I was just posting my experience for us New Yorkers who may want to visit.
Not everyone who posts here lives in Manhattan ,many live in the boros and do have cars, just thought it would be a nice shopping experience. (I live in Manhattan and I do have a car).
Jeez!!!!!
