arthur avenue restaurants

What are some of your recommendations for an Italian restaurant in the Little Italy section of the Bronx? (Belmont) We%26#39;ve been to Dominicks and love it, but we would like something a little more intimate and more comfortable (for my 90 year old parents) Thanks!

I have only been to three sit-down places (I often walk just through the market area and buy italian delicacies..) Dominicks, Roberto%26#39;s and Pasquale di Rigoletto%26#39;s.

Food-wise I give an edge to Roberto%26#39;s, but it is not user-friendly...it does not accpet reservations and seating is definitely intimate... but intimate as in tables squeezed close together...

Dominick%26#39;s you know is not intimate either. Food is good but I don%26#39;t like the service in the least and the way they add your bill.

Rigoletto%26#39;s....The food does not equal the level of Roberto%26#39;s but it is still good and delicious and the seating is much more pleasant. I would take my parents there.

There are other restaurants such as Umberto%26#39;s Clam House that get good reviews...but I have not gone there.

We%26#39;ve been to Mario%26#39;s. The food was good and reasonably priced--no reservations necessary. My one complaint--they could have drained the pasta better. The decor is really something--when you enter, you feel like you%26#39;re back in the 50s! We had a good waiter--prompt with a great sense of humor. On the way back to the hotel, we stopped at the Madonia Brothers Bakery for a cannoli--delicious!
