Does anyone know if there truly is a place called pug hill in central park? If so, where is it located? Thanks.

URBAN SPRAWL
Central Park%26#39;s Best-Kept Secrets
An 843-acre park, yet New Yorkers still need to claim that ';hidden'; place inside it. While you can have a great day hitting beloved sites鈥擲trawberry Fields, the Alice in Wonderland statue鈥攖hose seeking overlooked spots best mark these on their map:
DOG DAY AFTERNOON Pug Hill, at 79th and Fifth (just past the Alice statue), fills up with those infinitely lovable squash-nosed dogs every Saturday and Sunday afternoon. And while pugs play, owners swap pug stories. PARK PERK Celebs Jenna Elfman and Paula Abdul have been spotted showing off their prized pugs.
Thank you so much! What a fun way to spend an hour on Saturday afternoon.
This is news to me! ;)
This is a new one for me too.
Hi - I%26#39;m a frequent visitor to Pug Hill. I have a 3 year old fawn Pug, and Pug Hill has been a great place to hang out. The location provided above is correct...it%26#39;s just northwest of the Alice in Wonderland Statue.
However, the area is currently fenced off. I believe this is due to resodding or protection of the trees. Thus, you cannot currently access Pug Hill. I don%26#39;t know when it will re-open, but let me know when you are visiting, and I%26#39;ll try to find out.
Just wanted to let you know. It is a blast...I%26#39;ve been there with up to 20 pugs playing with each other and their people.
Thanks for the information. My husband and I will be in New York mid September for a few days. I hope its open. I%26#39;d love to see all the pugs playing. I wish I could bring my own with me on our trip.
Golly - didn%26#39;t know about Pug Hill - have to check it out on my next weekend visit to the Met. Ta. MMM!
I%26#39;m guessing it will be open by September. The pugs usually gather on Sundays between noon-3pm, although it%26#39;s really hit or miss.
If you go to meetup.com, there is a New York Pug Meetup group, which often has events on the weekends. Even without your baby, you%26#39;d have fun checking out dozens of pugs playing together.
