help needed re thanksgiving

im coming to new york with my husband for a shopping trip on nov 20th to nov 25th. we are travelling from n.ireland. we have only just realised it is over thanksgiving. can anyone advise us on what to do on thanksgiving day and is anywhere open. Are there places to eat open. Sorry but we dont have thanksgiving here so we are very unsure of what we can do that day. All advice welcome

Lots of restaurants are open. Traditional turkey dinner is the custom. The parade is a big deal. Some of the biggest sales of the year that weekend. If you must shop on the day, I think Woodbury Commons, the outlet mall north of the city MIGHT be open. Otherwise, wait til Fri., THE biggest shopping day of the year.

The city will be jam-packed full of the big Thanksgiving Day participants.

If you want to see the Radio City Spectacular or any other shows book them now, things for that weekend will sell out fast.

Keep an eye on opentable.com. Sometime around October it will have a list of restaurants open on Thanksgiiving with their special menues. Reservations can even be made online through opentable (at no cost).

what is the radio city spectacular and hows the best way for booking

It is a Christmas show featuring singing, and dancing by the legendary Rockettes chorus line. It also features Santa and a living nativity scene. It usually has an ice skating routine as well. It%26#39;s family entertainment.

Click ';Box Office'; Then click ';Christmas Spectacular'; You will get the ticketmaster page and a calendar with dates and show times (there are several shows in a day). In the box that says ';code'; put in the word BSANTA. This is a discount code.

In Spetember there are often buy one ticket get one free specials on the web, but Thanksgiving (and Christmas) are usally blackout times for those specials because there is no trouble filling the house then.

IMHO I would skip Radio City. I for one don%26#39;t like it. I would recommend a Broadway Show instead.

There are 3 showtimes listed for T%26#39;day. There are discounts available starting around Sept. on broadwaybox.com but I don%26#39;t know whether they ever do discounts on T%26#39;day. I thought there%26#39;d be a 10 am show that would be discounted but I don%26#39;t see a show at that time listed.

do braodways shows run on thanksgiving day?

So far as I know Broadway theatres are shuttered on Thanksgiving, but usually shows will have an extra, matinee performance the next day.
